What does waterproofing achieve?
Waterproofing is a critical aspect of the building process for wet areas including bathrooms, laundries and toilets. Waterproofing is completed before the tiling can begin to ensure that there are no leaks from the showers or wet area floors. Floor wastes, water stop angles for the shower and waterproofing the perimeter of the rooms are all part of the waterproofing process.

What is the difference between a Ceramic and a Porcelain tile?
A ceramic tile has a clay biscuit and commonly has a pressed, rounded edge to which would be laid with approximately a 4-5mm join. Available in a very large variety of colours and finishes, the top of a ceramic tile is usually glazed to achieve the required colour and finish. A porcelain tile has a porcelain biscuit and commonly has a rectified, cut edge to which would be laid with approximately 2-3mm join. Available in a variety of colours and finishes, porcelain tiles are becoming more common. If minimal grout is an appealing aspect, than a rectified edge tile will be the most suitable choice.
How long does it take to complete tiling an area?
The time taken to complete tiling an area mainly depends on the size and layout of the area. An open layout area can be tiled more quickly than an area with lots of cuts and curves.
Do I need to do anything to maintain the tiles after they have been laid?
This depends on the quality of the tile that you purchase. You can purchase maintenance and cleaning products from us but we recommend that you purchase a maintenance-free tile that will not require any sealing or costly maintenance.
